Graffiti compared with other iXBRL viewers

Several free tools show the tags in iXBRL accounts, and each suits a different job. This page sets out what each one opens and how you use it, taken from each provider's own published description in October 2026.

Which one to use

To look up one UK company's accounts, the UK iXBRL Viewer and Graffiti both search the register. To process reports in bulk, or check a report before you file it, Arelle is the standard open-source tool. For a US filing, the SEC viewer is one click from EDGAR, and filings.xbrl.org does the same for ESEF reports.

Graffiti is for reviewing the company as well as the tags. Beside the accounts it adds export to Excel, figures from untagged tables, validation and review checks, company records, comparison across years and companies, and AI questions grounded in the filing. See What is iXBRL? for how to open a set of accounts, and the guide for the rest.
